NJD: We are ready to head to Sicilia for Alessandro & Anya’s Wedding. It’s been 35 years since I’ve been to Sicilia and Carol’s first time ever. We are beyond excited. I’m looking forward to seeing Cousin Vittino and Ilda as well as my many other family members and friends. The Island of Sicilia is beautiful. It’s the land where my grandparents on the Di Dia side migrated from Vito & Maria. I’m fondly reminded of how that hope and vision to be in America is what gave them their sense of fulfillment–even though they left brothers and sisters and parents behind. I return to Sicilia with a sense of emotion, gratitude and an open heart. Sono contenta!
